Tri-State
Area Contractors Association, Inc.'s mission is to better working conditions
for the Commercial Construction industry in the Southwest Missouri, Southeast
Kansas, and Northeast Oklahoma areas and to become a viable power to address
City, County, and State issues which directly impact the Commercial Construction
industry in these areas.
To-date we have organized the following Committees to work on these and
other issues:
• Membership Committee: To build the membership of the Association.
• Social/Fund Raising Committee: To organize social events and fund
raisers.
• Buyers of Construction Services Committee: To act as a liaison for
Owner Relations, Architect Relations, etc...
• Education & Training Committee: To coordinate training and education
for Members as well as maintaining an education and scholarship program
for Students interested in entering the construction field.
• Legal and Legislative Committee: To work with local and State Officials
to negotiate legal and legislative changes.
• Safety, Health and OSHA Committee: To educate the membership on
any update/changes to safety, health and OSHA regulations.
There are several benefits of membership. We have a monthly newsletter that
keeps our members informed of upcoming events, upcoming bids, community
information, and pertinent news within the Association. We also have a full-service
plan room which offers our members a place to review, do take-off, and/or
have copies made of current projects up for bid. In coordination with this,
members receive a fax or e-mail notifying them as new plans and addenda
are made available. Our members also receive a spot on our website, which
enables members and non-members alike to have contact information for your
company at a moments notice.
Tri-State Area Contractors Association is also working to become an active
member of the community with a strong dedication to community development
and education. We provide several annual college and trade scholarships.
We also believe that liaison work is an efficient way to solve problems.
Our committees deal with all local government entities to discuss issues
of concern and work with them to obtain possible solutions. A very important
facet of membership is our emphasis on doing business with local firms,
preferably fellow members.
There are numerous opportunities to meet your fellow construction industry
professionals throughout the year, especially at the monthly membership
meetings. We are working to make our meetings informative, yet entertaining,
and to provide a relaxed, yet professional atmosphere. The $15 cost covers
dinner, and a cash bar is provided. Our meetings take place on the third
(3rd) Monday of each month. The only exception is in December, in which
we have our Christmas party instead of the regular monthly meeting. We also
have several social and educational events throughout the year. |
